I teach non-illusory theater and creative writing. Non-illusory is a fancy word that in this context means “Never pretending to be someone or somewhere you’re not.” It’s creating art from your own life and includes the audience as part of the performance. I am interested in creating environments that encourage experimentation, collaboration and self-discovery. I use interdisciplinary approaches to writing and devising and like to include a strong emphasis on play and games. My classes are focused on (safely) throwing caution to the wind and embracing failure as a catalyst for truth telling. I have taught students from a variety of different performance, writing and education backgrounds and ages.

Have an idea for a class?

I can create a workshop or series of workshops tailored to your specific needs. I teach both on zoom and in person.

“It was an active and engaging Zoom workshop for our students. I really appreciated the activities chosen for the age group. Each student felt heard and invited into the conversation.  We have quite a few students experiencing challenging personal situations at the moment, and this was a lovely time to celebrate some small growth. They were talking about the plays created after signing off.”
